New Orleans LA- On the eve of Katrina 5, the producers of "FEEL THE MOVEMENT: From Prophecy to Promise" documentary film will present the New Orleans Tribute to the March on Washington. On August 28, 2010, at the Mahalia Jackson Theatre for Performing Arts with two unique shows, 10am and 7pm, New Orleans will make history while celebrating the city's rich civil rights heritage. On this day, the nation will commemorate the 47th Anniversary of the Historic March on Washington in the birthplace of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). Updating from August 28, 2008, the film crew filmed part II of the documentary at the Clinton Presidential Library. Now, two years later, New Orleans is the designated city for the final recording. The film is scheduled for a 2011 release.
The King Legacy will be updated and the nation will witness a providential moment that happens once and for certain, a few questions will be asked and answered. What does and what will God have to say to and about New Orleans, Katrina 5, and this nation on this day of record when he utters a Word of truth, hope, healing, and dream attainment through the voice of his prophets? Could it be that he has timed this historic anniversary tribute on the eve of this national anniversary to again garner the nation's attention and speak again through the historic organization founded in this historic city? Will their be an historic rebirth of the King Legacy on display?
In the midst of the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, this edutainment tribute will take place. A major focus will be the rebirth of SCLC getting the city on point and others prepare to return to New Orleans as SCLC engages this project with a historic membership drive and the release of The Message in Music CD. The CD is a creative masterpiece with excerpts from King's messages with music integrations from national artists including Snoop Dogg, Sly Stone, MusiqSoulChild, Lenny Williams and others. Special guest include national recording artists from the CD, filmmakers and local creative talents. Over $100,000 in scholarships will be awarded to aspiring artists and creative talents from across the gulf coast pursuing professional entertainment careers who which contribute greatly to the regions creative economy.
