Discover the diversity and richness of Hungarian cuisine, a tradition that grew out of the native abundance of fresh produce, game, and fish and influences from Ottoman, Austrian, German, and Slavic cultures. With help from Chef András, students will prepare (then sit down to enjoy) a decadent three-course meal that includes delicate poached fish and nokedli dumplings, duck with plum-chutney filled pancakes, and a classic dessert of light and fluffy Tokaj wine clouds. There’s much more to Hungarian cooking than goulash, and this class will give them an authentic taste of the vivid colors and flavors of the Hungarian kitchen.
