The day was supremely delivered. Over 13 million minutes in prayer time was offered to God. Prayers of repentance, thanksgiving and prayers of love for past and current leaders paved the way to a Suprme Day of Prayer.
Special moments came from Dr. Charles Ware of Crossroads Bible College and special music by Anita Hall of Hawaii.
A recap of the mission denotes...
“It has been 42 years since Dr. King gave his final prophecy. January 17, 2011 marks 25 years with the nation honoring him with a Federal Holiday.
He is the only Prophet with this honor and this honor now serves as a Testament of Faith for Spiritual Leaders everywhere who are walking in these same footsteps. God has spoken and we know that it is both “high time and now time” for spiritual leaders to come together and lead this nation in a “Supreme Day of Prayer…Giving Honor to the Prophet.” GOD IS DOING… A SUPREME MAKEOVER!
Now let us all… Give tribute to whom tribute is due…honor to whom honor is due and custom to whom
custom is due. We have entered into… “The Promised Land.” Arthur L. Hunt, Jr., Producer, 1st National Tribute to King Holiday, Memphis, TN, January 1990
SUPREME. This is what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., was all about. Supreme commitment to our Supreme God… Supreme commitment to education… Supreme commitment in serving humanity… Supreme sacrifice in laying down his life. SUPREME!
On January 17, 2011, the historic day of the 25th Anniversary in his honor, the organizers and producers of the 1st National Tribute to Federal Holiday from Memphis, Tennessee are presenting a “Supreme Day of Prayer.” The day features prayer focus circles, services and a national tribute filming the final chapter of the documentary film, FEEL THE MOVEMENT: From Prophecy to Promise.
On the Federal Holiday, through a series of prayer, praise and inspirational tributes led by national organizations including the National Day of Prayer Task Force, Two by Two Prayer of Memphis, Tennessee, Prayer Surge NOW and others the nation will see a re-presentation St. John 17 in action.
From a national phone line hosting prayers, to social networks posting and blogging prayers along with churches and public venues joining together in the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace, millions will be offering prayers of thanksgiving to God for Dr. King and other spiritual leaders who paved the way and those leaders today who continue to proclaim the message of God in that he has created all of us in his image and he is no respecter of person.
January 17, 2011 is a major day of spiritual testament and 25 years later this tribute allows us… “Reflect the Past… Inspect the Present… and Project the Future.” And yes while we are witnessing historic progress on many fronts spring forth from Dr. King’s Prophecy/Dream including the election of our first African American President, this moment, in the spirit of Dr. King will not be relegated to race, creed or color but that of true praise for witnessing the greatness of our God whose Word always comes to pass. The day of prayers and tributes celebrates God, who made of “one blood” all nations to dwell of the face of the earth together. The theme encourages everyone to give supreme time to thank God for Dr. King and others who knew this day of promise would come continue to put our trust in him. It gives supreme focus drawing from the scriptures that it is not man but it is “righteousness that exalts the nation.”
FEEL THE MOVEMENT: From Prophecy to Promise, the film documentary captures twenty-one years from the producers beginning in Memphis conceptualizing, researching and honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the Prophet. It looks at the 40-year biblical timeline between the final Prophecy, April 3, 1968 through April 3, 2008 and depicts the ultimate description of Dr. King at work with his assignment as a God-ordained, Preacher, Prophet, Pastor and Teacher. It then takes a look at the first two years (2008-2010) of the next 40 years to examine but mostly put on display the truth about what God says about us from the original template in creation. The documentary will show how Dr. King’s Prophecy has been fulfilled through a series of lessons that teach the principles of love, truth and liberty for all to our now and next generation of leaders.
As prayers will be led across the national by partnering ministries and organizations, the National Tribute will be held on January 17, in Indianapolis. The cost to produce the film is $350,000. The cost to host the Supreme Day of Prayer is estimated at $75,000. Previous filming sites include: National Civil Rights Museum, Mason Temple Church of God in Christ and the Orpheum Theatre, Memphis, TN, Clinton Presidential Library, Little Rock Central High School, Mahalia Jackson Theatre, Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, Arkansas Northeastern College, Hunt Memorial Cathedral of Faith and other key venues.
