Zsuzsanna Szegedi: Enduring Trees May 1, 2010

The dramatic forms of broken branches and knotted, gnarled trunks have been a focal point for Szegedi since she started painting trees over 10 years ago. Using bold color and strong brushwork, she explores the contrast that exists both in ourselves and in nature--protected and wild, together and alone, light and dark. Each is defined by its opposite, and forever linked.
