Zozo afrobeat live at APT August 5, 2008

“Zozo,” which is taken from the Goun and Fon word for “something hot,” is dedicated to keeping the afrobeat fire burning while expanding it's form & exploring it's possibilities. A large & varied ensemble that is based in New York City, Zozo features musicians from around the world. Led by Benin born & Nigerian raised Kaleta who learned his craft recording and performing with legendary Nigerian musicians Fela Kuti and King Sunny Ade. After moving to the U.S., Kaleta toured with Femi Kuti and most recently with Lauryn Hill.
