ABOUT THE BANDS:
The Fixx is a British new wave band formed in 1980. Reknowned for their live concerts, the Fixx regularly tour the U.S., and recently celebrated 25 years of making music together. They are perhaps best remembered for their song "One Thing Leads To Another", from their most successful album Reach the Beach from 1983. Their other hits include "Red Skies", "Stand or Fall", "Saved by Zero", "Sign of Fire", "Are We Ourselves?", "Secret Separation", "Driven Out", "How Much Is Enough?" and "Deeper and Deeper" which was featured on the soundtrack of Streets of Fire, as well as "A Letter to Both Sides" which can be found on the Fletch soundtrack.
The Beat, known in America as The English Beat was formed in the English city of Birmingham in 1978. The band released three albums and a string of well-crafted singles including "Mirror in the Bathroom", "Best Friend", "Save It For Later" and "I Confess". After the break-up of The Beat in 1983, Dave Wakeling (guitar, vocals) and Ranking Roger (vocals) went on to form General Public. While performing at Zoo Brew, the band will play hits from The English Beat AND General Public.
