Having been to 4 or 5 FZ shows, Zappa Plays Zappa was as close to the original as possible.
DZ can play guitar!
Was nice to see Ray White in the band; he did a nice guitar duel with DZ.
Complaints about the venue:
Reserved section seats are too close together, side by side as well as row to row. Felt somewhat like a sardine packed in a tin. So little room between rows that people coming and going could barely squeeze by.
Better to spend less than half the price, bring a blanket, and arrive early to grab a great spot on the grass.
Also, the show/venue rules should be prominently posted on the web. I had to make 2 trips back to the car; once to dump the camera (funny that cell phone cameras were allowed in and being profusely used) and again to stow the umbrella.
The quality of the show more than compensated for these issues though.
Hopefully, the ZPZ will be an ongoing yearly event.
Next time we'll be on the lawn.
