After the passing of guitarist Randy Rhodes, Ozzy Osbourne was in search of a partner in crime who had enough chops and stage presence to fill a large pair of shoes. He plucked Zakk Wylde from Zyrus -- a small Jersey band -- and took him straight to the world's biggest stages. Besides his on-again/off-again relationship with Ozzy, Zakk formed the Pride and Glory trio in 1994, came close to becoming a member of Guns 'N' Roses and later released a solo album entitled 'Book of Shadows.' Zakk's current project, Black Label Society, has seen the release of seven albums including the most recent, 'Mafia.' He may not sing like Pavarotti, but this guy can sure make a Les Paul howl like nobody else. Dope plays thrash metal with a Lemmy Kilminster-influenced vocal charge.
