Following the opening of Zach Layton's The Post Tropical installation Mikrogalleriet (17.00 to 21.00, Gormsgade 8), Layton will perform with New York sound artists Tristan Perich and Lesley Flanigan a few blocks away at B7.

Zach Layton uses an EEG sensor in performance to generate realtimeaudio/visual signals streaming from his brainwaves. This flow ofsubconscious data merges with conscious musical decision making processes through the use of an electric guitar. The process of balancing the relationship between this brainwave sensor and electric guitar, or more accurately: the subconscious mind and the conscious mind, creates a feedback loop which ultimately guides the logic of the performance.

Tristan Perich is inspired by the aesthetics of math and physics. The challenge of elegance provokes his work in acoustic and electronic music, and physical and digital art. WIRE Magazine describes his compositions as "an austere meeting of electronic and organic." The Village Voice calls his circuit-in-a-CD-case album, 1-Bit Music, "technology and aesthetic rolled into one." His work with 1-bit audio explores the foundations of digital sound and logic as expressed by electrical signals routed to loudspeakers.

Lesley Flanigan is a sound sculptor, composer, vocalist, and performer. Working with speaker feedback, she explores the physical acoustics of electronic sound by turning basic loudspeakers into musical instruments. Crafted from found speaker components and wood, her instruments afford a delicate tangibility to electronic sound. Blurring the boundaries of music, sculpture, and noise genres, she layers waves of tones from her speakers with her own voice, shaping sound as a fragile mass. Her feedback compositions are the subject of her 2009 album, Amplifications.
