ArtsEmerson: The World On Stage presents Zabriskie Point. Following one of the student protests during the 1960s, a young man steals an airplane and flies off into the desert. Unexpectedly, he meets a fellow traveler on the journey and ends up falling in love with her. In this idyllic tale of self-discovery, growing pains and young love, Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni makes his only American film, providing a unique outsider’s perspective on the turbulent 1960s and the generation wanting to form its own sort of utopia.
