Sat & Sun, June 19-20, 8 am to 8 pm both days
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. is bringing its Guinness World Record best-selling phenomenon, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG), to the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center for its Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship Series (YCS). These flagship events are the largest competitive Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG tournaments in the world, with more than 75 such events run since 2004. Over the course of the weekend, approximately one thousand Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG players are expected to descend upon Rosemont to showcase their skills at this premiere event, but only one will be crowned the winner.
In addition to the main event, weekend activities include many other Public Events such as Regional Qualifiers, Tin Challenges, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-A-Mat, Dragon Duel and a tournament for the newest video game, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2010 Reverse of Arcadia. Duelists and attendees alike can also capture their experience by posing with KDE's jumbo-sized Stardust Dragon statue. In addition, Duelists new to the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG can get their game up-to-speed from a hands-on demo of the wildly-popular Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's DUEL TERMINAL. These arcade-style video game machines can play and teach the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, and dispense unique cards to players.
The winner of the main event in this weekend's championship will receive three Ultra Rare YCS Prize Cards, a trophy, paid travel to the National Championship in July (or to another YCS), a YCS Game Mat, and a Netbook computer with 500 BoosterPass points for Yu-Gi-Oh! Online Duel Accelerator. Additional prizes will be awarded to other top finishers.
