Musicians from Youth Orchestra of the Americas —fresh from the Carnegie Hall stage— with virtuoso pianist Alex Brown and multi-instrumentalist Paulo Stagnaro join together in Camerata Bicentenario — a masterful program of folkloric, classical and modern Latin American musical styles. An evening of musical storytelling weaves the rich heritage of Native American cultures and African rhythms synthesized with European melodies and evocative sound-scapes, moods, and dance rhythms of these four Bicentennial countries.



Twelve YOA musicians from the USA, Dominican Republic, Uruguay, Canada, Chile, Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica and Peru perform Pasillo (Colombia), Wapango (Paquito D’Rivera, Cuba), Adagio para Cordas (A. Nepomuceno, Brazil), Fuga Criolla (Juan Bautista Plaza, Venezuela), Chega de Saudades (Jobim/DeMoraes, Brazil), Oblivion (Piazzolla, Argentina), and Rita Esperanza se fue (G. Marín, Colombia, Porro), among others.
