Youth Art Month Exhibition Opens on “Gallery Night” March 11, 2010

The Newport Art Museum’s Coleman Center for Creative Studies kicks off National Youth Art Month celebrations with a reception on Newport Gallery Night, Thursday March 11 marking the opening of an exhibition featuring artwork by Newport County students in kindergarten through grade eight. The reception is free and runs from 4:30 to 6:30 pm. The Youth Art Month Exhibition runs through March 23 at the Coleman Center. The Rogers High School Chamber Ensemble, conducted by Alan Bernstein, performs in the Museum’s Griswold House from 6 to 7 pm on Gallery Night and the Museum is open from 5 to 8 pm. Admission is free. Youth Art Month, held annually in March, emphasizes the value of art education for all children and encourages support for quality school programs.
