Young Women of Color Conference October 24, 2008

Given the size and scope of the dilemmas in the Maryland/DC area, this conference is warranted and acutely needed. The Young Women of Distinction along with Hip Hop Education recognized the need to empower young women of color from within, before they succumb to the pressures of society and media influences. The Conference will focus on empowering and equipping young women of color with tools for their mind, body, and soul that will carry them through life. Workshops are available for mothers, mentors, adults, and caregivers.

Attendees will chose individual sessions of interest, which will be followed by interactive discussions lead by expert panelists and presenters . Audience and presenter discussions will focus on identified issues facing a young women of color. Each facilitator brings a high level of knowledge, expertise, and experience in discussions.

The cost to attend is $30 for young women and $15 for mothers, mentors, adults, and caregivers. Discounts are available for Young Women of Distinction and Girls Scout Members. Group Discounts are available.
