Young People's Chorus of Erie Holiday Concert: "Do You Hear What I Hear?" December 20, 2011

November 14, 2011 – Do you hear what I hear? If you’re hearing beautiful songs of the season, you must be in the audience at the annual holiday performance of the Young People’s Chorus of Erie.

“Do You Hear What I Hear?” is the theme of YPC Erie’s Tuesday, Dec. 20, concert, which will be held at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2216 Peach St., Erie. The event includes performances by YPC Erie’s Cantare for young singers, its Concert Chorus, and its Young Men’s Chorus, along with the debut of YPC Erie’s two satellite choirs, which are based at the Multicultural Resource Center of Erie and at the Bethesda Center for Musical Expression and Leadership.

The choirs will perform under the direction of Dr. Jason Bishop, founder and artistic director of YPC Erie, and Caitlin Henning, assistant conductor and director of education.

YPC Erie is northwestern Pennsylvania’s youth and children’s chorus organization. An outreach organization in residence in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, it is the first affiliate of the famed Young People’s Chorus of New York City.
