Dublin natives Keith Roberts (vocals, guitar) and Paul O'Toole (vocals, guitar, mandolin, harmonica) formed the Young Dubliners in the early ‘90s after meeting a Los Angeles pub, like true Irishmen. Roberts had been tweaking some original Irish ballads of his own and after a few pints and craic (Irish for fun), O'Toole agreed to be form a band with him. When Brendan Holmes (bass) and Charles Waltz (violin) joined up, the party-loving rock aspect of their folky Celtic sound began to shine like never before. Having toured Europe with Jethro Tull in ’01, The Young Dubliners featured Ian Anderson on their ’05 album Real World. They have also toured with Collective Soul, John Hiatt and Chris Isaak. Their latest album, Saints and Sinners, features the upbeat hit radio single “Rosie” and was released to rave reviews. Their live shows have a ripe jam feel, mixed with the rainy-day comfort of any good Irish tunes. Think Phish mixed with Van Halen and Wilco, but from Ireland.

“Saints and Sinners is akin to a marriage between American rock-and-roll and a modern dose of Celtic folk and plenty of nods to pop and other genres. It really is a sound only the Young Dubs create.” – The Washington Post
