Wednesday, February 23rd, 10:30am
John Higby, Guiness World Record Holder, Yo-Yo Champion and former contestant on America's Got Talent will perform at the Orpheum Theatre in Foxboro this February.
Performing on Wednesday, February 23, as part of its February Winter Vacation Series, Higby's show includes classic tricks such as Walk the Dog and Rock the baby, as well as amazing new and bizarre tricks such as the Boingy-Boingy and the Iron Whip. Yo-yo's attached to bouncy balls, yo-yo's with 10-foot strings, and multiple yo-yos looping while hula hooping and unicycling are just some of the finely tuned feats. High skill and deft timing to swingin' music coupled with high energy and humor make the Yo-Yo People a favorite for every age.
In 2000 while at home in Denver, CO, and attending a local store's yo-yo club, he met his future wife and performing partner, Rebecca. In addition to performing with his wife, Higby is an accomplished artist. His colorful, extroverted art, usually involving his cartoon character, Mr. Yodel, can be seen on his art website, johnhigby.com.
The February Winter Vacation Series features a fantastic array of performers and movies, including Boston's Best Magician, Mike Bent, on February 22nd, and movies on February 21st and 24th. Each show starts at 10:30 a.m. General admission tickets for each show are $6 per child and $8 per adult, and are available now by calling (800) 838-3006 or by visiting www.orpheum.org.
