George "Buddy" Guy set out to pursue his music career in 1957, leaving his rural Louisiana roots for Chicago. He fashioned his unique sound and charismatic stage presence under the influences of Muddy Waters, Otis Rush, Howlin' Wolf and Junior Wells. As pioneer of the famous Chicago blues sound, Guy has made an enduring mark on blues and rock music, influencing icons including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Guy's hits include "Damn Right," "I've Got The Blues," "Feels Like Rain" and "Slippin' In." His most recent studio album, "Skin Deep" (2008), features all original material. In addition to his Grammys, he has received 23 W.C. Handy Blues Awards (the most any artist has received), the Billboard Magazine Century Award for distinguished artistic achievement and the Presidential National Medal of Arts. He is also ranked thirtieth in Rolling Stone's list of "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time."
