Amos Lee grew up in Philadelphia and nearby Cherry Hill, N.J., but didn't decide to make music his career till he was teaching elementary school back in Philly after college. He quit to start writing jazz, folk and R&B-influenced songs, and recorded an EP that caught the ear of Norah Jones. She took him on tour, and he landed a contract with Blue Note Records. Jones' then-boyfriend, bassist Lee Alexander, produced Lee's self-tit...led 2005 debut, and she contributed vocals and piano. It got him listed as one of Rolling Stone's "Top 10 Artists to Watch," and earned him an Austin City Limits taping, as well as an opening slot on that year's Merle Haggard/Bob Dylan tour. He's since toured with Elvis Costello, Paul Simon and John Prine. Lee's catalog also includes 2006's Supply and Demand and 2008's Last Days at the Lodge. His fourth studio album is due this fall.
