The Music Gallery teams up with Mutek (Montreal) and Vague Terrain (Toronto) to present Nuit Avant, a late-night electronic music event taking place at The Drake Underground after Saturday evening's concert at the MG.

We are pleased to host Berlin's Jan Jelinek -- DJ, musician, producer, remixer and ~scape recording artist. Jelinek's 2005 full-length Kosmischer Pitch reconciles the "minimal" and the "opulent" by using ambient electronic textures to absorb everything from jazz to rock to psychedelia.

The evening will also feature a live set by Toronto's naw, a minimal techno artist with an eye towards experimentation with altered instruments, modified devices, and custom software environments. The third live set features Torontonian dark ambient artist Akumu, with guest collaborator, cellist Anne Bourne. All three sets will feature live video art by VJ Nokami, and ether.mann will warm up the room with a live/DJ set.
