WXPN Welcomes Cracker (acoustic) with The Hackensaw Boys March 4, 2007

Singer/guitarist David Lowery established Cracker afted disbanding the '80s alternative outfit Camper Van Beethoven. More of a straightforward rock outfit, Cracker gained a legion of fans with their second release, Kerosene Hat, and it's popular single "Low". Their latest album is Greenland, and for this special appearance they will be performing an acoustic set.

The Hackensaw Boys first began playing their joyful blend of old-time tinged music on the streets of Charlottesville in the autumn of 1999. Their music, while drawing upon the spirit of the mountains, is sophisticated and informed by the best elements of punk rock and classic country music. As one reviewer put it: Imagine the Carter Family meets the Ramones, and you begin to get the picture.
