TOPIC: "Writing from the Heart"

DESCRIPTION: Writing is not a solitary endeavour, a retreat into isolation, detached and alone for great swathes of time at a keyboard or journal. Writing is a conversation, a hook into the world. Writing is a self-expression that can be coddled and savoured until ready to be served to the writer’s guests. In this presentation, Susan J. Katz describe how we are all writers: no one has to have special training, special talents or gifts, a benefactor, or a special writing retreat in Shangri-la. What we need is what we all have: a heart.

SPEAKER: Susan J. Katz is a freelance writer/editor/educator and award winning poet living in Vancouver (http://ca.linkedin.com/pub/susan-j-katz/1a/657/293 ).
