Eighty-eight oriental rugs that depict the countryside and cities of Afghanistan are being sold by the TMC’s Volunteer Association to support the Museum’s exhibitions and public programs.
HOW IT WORKS: Buy an individual membership to the TMC ($60) for yourself or a friend and for $50 you can take home any rug you want. ($50 per rug; limit 2 per person.)
SOURCE: The rugs are from the collection of Max Allen – founding curator of the Textile Museum of Canada – who is switching from collecting stuff to finding new homes for it.
DON’T MISS: Six large rugs of exceptional interest will also be on display and will be available as part of a silent auction.
Starting bid of $500, winner will be announced at 5:00 pm.
