From July 7 – July 19, New York City’s hometown tennis team, the NY Sportimes, and the Randall’s Island Sports Foundation (RISF), are bringing Advanta World TeamTennis (WTT) action back to New York City for the first time since 1978. The NY Sportimes will play seven home matches featuring their team of young American standouts. Sportimes’ star, NYC tennis legend John McEnroe, will lead the team in his 8th season with the franchise and visiting marquee players will represent three generations of tennis legends and stars. All home matches will be played at SPORTIME at Randall’s Island, a new state-of-the art tennis facility, including an intimate outdoor stadium built for the team. The team has dedicated itself to the continuing renaissance of Randall’s Island by teaming with the Randall’s Island Sports Foundation and the New York City Parks Department so that proceeds from the operation of the team will benefit RISF and the tens of thousands of children it serves every year.
