World Press Photo Exhibition attracts two million people each year in 45 countries, the world’s most prestigious annual exhibition of photojournalism visits Brisbane for the first time.

The 50th Annual World Press Photo Exhibition profiles the globe’s top press photographers and showcases the world’s best press photos of 2006 and in 85 locations worldwide.

World Press Photo is the leading international competition in press photography. In 2006 the competition received 78,083 entries from 4,460 professional photographers from 124 countries. Competition entrants include photojournalists, agencies, newspapers and magazines from all corners of the world.

World Press Photo 2007 prizewinners include Australian photojournalists Craig Golding and Steve Christo from The Sydney Morning Herald.

The World Press Photo Foundation is an independent platform for international press photography, founded in 1955 in the Netherlands.
