'World of the Shipwright: From Wood to Fiberglass' explores the golden years of boat and shipbuilding in the region from the late 1800s through 1965, when Whatcom County had the reputation as home to some of the finest builders of watercraft in the Pacific Northwest. From work boats to commercial, pleasure and military vessels build in the small sheds or established shipyards, Bellingham Bay was once crowed with a vibrant maritime industry. This exhibition is a tribute to the shipwrights, who dedicated their lives to their trade.
