After water, tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world and the art of making tea is all in how you prepare it. In many parts of the world, drinking tea is an important part of each each day and an expression of true hospitality.
Exhibit guests will learn cultural tea rituals from East to West and will be able to view tea pots from exotic ports of call like Russia, Japan, Persia, and Argentine.
Tea pots were not the only equipment used for tea preparations. The tradition of tea around the world brings along wonderful accoutrements to enhance the journey. As you view strainers and infusers, tea cups and bowls, tea bricks, and tea spoons and whisks you will quickly realize that a simple cup of tea isn’t so simple after all.
All tea comes from the same plant but is traditionally classified based on the techniques with which it is produced and processed. The exhibit will wrap up with samples and descriptions of each of the five most common tea classifications: white tea, green tea, black tea, oolong tea and puerh tea.
