This four day class will have you making black-and-white images on Day 1. Starting with the fundamentals of darkroom safety and equipment operation, you will learn how to make photograms and then rapidly move on to learn basic film development and printing from your own black-and-white negatives. You will be shown how to control exposure and contrast, and taught the necessary techniques of dodging and burning.
This class is highly recommended for those people without prior darkroom experience who would like to rent our darkrooms during open sessions and for those who just want a taste of the darkroom without enrolling in a semester-long course. Tuition fee includes one package of 8x10 paper (25 sheets) and two rolls of film. More film and paper is available for purchase.
Class fee includes a complimentary one month membership at course conclusion (a $39 savings). This will provide for use of the darkroom for only $5 per session (half price).
The remaing classes are on April 11, 18, and 25.
