The Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) will likely pass during the current session of Congress and be signed into law. As currently proposed, EFCA will eliminate secret ballot elections and institute a "card check" procedure to determine whether a union will represent your employees. It will also institute a process of "interest arbitration" to determine the terms of your initial collective bargaining agreement. All this will make it easier for a union to organize your employees and likely will set off a tidal wave of union organizing activity. What does this mean for your organization? How should you prepare? You'll leave the program knowing:
-How EFCA will change the union organizing process
-EFCA's rules for negotiating a first collective bargaining agreement
-What you can do if a union approaches your employees
-What you can lawfully say to employees about unions
