At the Skiff today we realised that there were quite a few of us that wanted to set up our own websites.
We need to do things like setting up hosting, installing wordpress, sorting out email admin, sorting out Google apps etc. In a nutshell - doing all the boring up-front stuff that happens before the creative bit.
We didn't have sufficient motivation to muddle through on our own and we could do with some help from our friends - so we're having an open co-muddle-through-and-set-up-our-websites morning @Theskiff.
Its free. Turn up and get stuck in with us. Hopefully by the end of it we'll all have ready-to-go sites.
IMPORTANT - you need to bring or have:
- A credit card to sign up for hosting (or you could buy a Media Temple 'Grid Service' account in advance)
- A domain name registered
- Any passwords and access you may have to the DNS settings (you got with domain registry)
