WordCamp is a conference type of
event that focuses squarely on everything WordPress. Everyone from
casual end users all the way up to core developers show up to these
events
WordCamp Chicago is a 2 day event for passionate WordPress users, developers, designers and anyone else who is interested in learning all about WordPress. We're hoping this event will be a fun, relaxing and educational event for everyone who attends.
So far, we have confirmed several speakers for the event; such as:

Matt Mullenweg, founder of our favorite blog/CMS platform, WordPress
Brian Clark, copywriting guru and owner of the very popular blog Copyblogger
Jeremy Wright, CEO of one of the largest global new media blog networks, b5media
Sarah James, uber-cool mommy blogger of popular sites Whoorl and Hair Thursday
Erin Blaskie, CEO of global internet marketing strategy consultancy, Business Services, ETC
Mark Ghosh, owner/blogger of a great WordPress resource site, Weblog Tools Collection
Liz Strauss, online business strategist and owner of Successful Blog and SOB Con
Micah Baldwin, VP of business development of search-powered web application, Lijit
Tim Frick, who creates design-driven communication solutions with his company, Mightybytes
Doug Hanna, head honcho of running the day-to-day operations of the WordPress showcase
