Alton Word Fest is a new two-day event that is being led by Alton Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The idea was put forward by Claire Hearse of Little Green Dragon Book & Art shop and Alton Chamber brought together interested organisations and people to manage it.
The event is being run on a not-for-profit basis, funded jointly by Alton Chamber of Commerce and East Hampshire District Council. The teachers’ union NASUWT North East Hants Area Association have kindly sponsored the prizes for the Children’s Writing Competition.
