Women's Healthy Heart Festival May 30, 2009

The Watts Healthcare Corporation Women's Health Month Committee Presents its Annual Women's Health Fair taking place on Saturday, May 30, 2009 from 10am - 4pm. This year's theme is "The Beat Goes On" with featured performances beginning at 12pm by Karen Hernandez, Pianist; Karen Briggs, Violinist; and Phyllis Battle, Vocalist. Gospel & Praise Dancers as well as a Teen Talent Showcase will commence at 10am.
Confirmed appearances from local officials such as, Assemblyman Isadore Hall and Councilmember Bernard Parks will be in attendance, with invites to Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Congresswoman Laura Richardson, Assembly Speaker Karen Bass, Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, Councilwoman Janice Hahn and a Representative from Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's office.
Free health screenings will be offered to the community in the health pavilion, including Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Weight Management, Bone Density and Mammograms. Healthy food vendors, a play area for children and raffle prizes will take place throughout the day.
