Speaker: Lynda Lawrence, Physiotherapist, Burrard Physiotherapy
TOPIC: Women's Health Issues
DESCRIPTION: Learn about specific women's health issues such as pelvic floor dysfunction and osteoporosis. Symptoms associated with pelvic floor dysfunction may include urinary leakage with exercise and coughing, sudden urges to rush to the bathroom (urgency), pelvic pain (including pain with sexual activity) and prolapse. Often these symptoms are not discussed with the GP although there are various treatment options available. Osteoporosis affects 1 in 4 women and yet many women are unaware they have this condition until they sustain a bone fracture.
Lynda has over 20 years experience and will discuss the benefits of physiotherapy treatments to address these concerns. This will include advice about exercise, correct posture and strategies to take control of your natural bodily functions.
