Women ETC, the Virginia Women in Technology Conference is the premier statewide event for women who work in and with technology. The conference, being held at the Greater Richmond Convention Center, is organized by RichTech’s Women in Technology Forum in support of its mission to further empower women -- from the classroom to the boardroom. It will address the issues of empowering women in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Attendees and participants can look forward to a full day event focused on career development, entrepreneurial work, leadership and education.
Among the scheduled speakers are Dr. Kristina Johnson, CEO of Enduring Energy and Arianna Huffington, President and Editor-in-Chief of the Huffington Post. Dr. Johnson has served as Under Secretary of Energy, earned her B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Stanford University and currently holds 45 U.S. Patents. Ms. Huffington is considered a highly accomplished pioneer in social media and online news. She regularly speaks to women technologists and publishers about the “Brave New World of the "New Media": How Social Media Has Revolutionized the Communications Landscape.”
