Woman on the Run 5K and 1 Mile Run/Walk October 21, 2012

The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) gives a nod to its current exhibition, "Woman on the Run" with a mysterious race through Beach Garden Park that starts and ends at MOCA. Awards will be given for top performers in each age group, and special prizes are reserved for the people who race in the coolest detective/Veronica Hayden disguises. Online registration is available at www.virginiamoca.org through Friday, Oct. 19. Race Day registration opens at 8:30am, preceding the 5K start at 10am and the 1 Mile start at 11am.

Registration fees vary... the 5K is $25 ($20 for MOCA members;) and the 1 Mile is $20 ($15 for MOCA members). Registration includes free MOCA t-shirts for the first 250 participants, race timing, prizes for the top finishers in each event and light refreshments. Proceeds benefit MOCA's art education programs. Volunteers are still needed, so if you’re interested, email events@virginiamoca.org.
