WMPG Fashion Benefit April 25, 2009

WMPG, Greater Portland's Community Radio presents its fifth annual Fashion Show on Saturday, April 25 at Space Gallery, 538 Congress Street in Portland. Doors open at 8 pm and the show begins at 9 pm.

Each year, Fashion Show Director Paul Drinan gathers Maine designers of clothing, jewelry and accessories to present their creative fashions on the Space runway. "None of that 'off-the-rack-schmack'", muses Drinan, "This is the real deal!"

Last year's event was packed to capacity and this year promises more exciting all-original clothing, jewelry and accessories designed by local artists. This year's added touch of pre-show entertainment by Quasar with an interactive, improvisational musical extravaganza, makes this year's show a "Powered Up" experience. WMPG is kicking off a two year "Power Up!" fundraising effort to boost their broadcast power with a new transmitter and stronger signal.

The WMPG Fashion Show is produced and directed by former runway pro and WMPG Volunteer, Paul Drinan with a local DJ favorite laying the beat for the models as they parade down the runway. Admission is $10 at the door, $5 with a student ID. All proceeds will go to WMPG.
