Wisin y Yandel Los Vaqueros "El Regreso 2011" @ Escapade 2001
Wisin y Yandel, the #1 selling Latin Urban artists, bring "El Regreso 2011" to Escapade 2001 Houston on Thursday, June 16th!
Wisin & Yandel have proven to be a force to be reckoned with, becoming the only artists in the Latin Urban genre to sell out both The Staples Center and Madison Square Garden in the US. Wisin & Yandel’s live shows are nothing short of exhilarating, featuring the duo’s 7 piece band, their dance crew, a state-of-the-art audio/visual extravaganza and a fusion of genres and styles delivered with unparallel power and passion.
WISIN Y YANDEL, Puerto Rico’s dynamic duo, has been releasing albums at a steady pace since the turn of the century, garnering GRAMMYs® and working with everyone from Enrique Iglesias to Bronx linchpin Fat Joe. For their new album, La Revolucion, WISIN & YANDEL follow the formula that’s been making fans flock to the group’s reggaeton rhythms. The album’s slick production is characterized by pounding bass and club-ready synths that create a sonic smoke cloud penetrated by slightly auto-tuned R&B vocals and bouncy Spanish raps. There are softer moments, but the swagger meter flies off the charts when 50 Cent joins the duo for “Mujeres In the Club”. Their new single “Abusadora” is already becoming a radio and nightclub anthem like all of their previous smash hits such as “Rakata”, “Me Estas Tentando”, “Ahora Es”, “Sexy Movimiento”, “Llame Pa Verte” and “Pam Pam”.
Though Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel (born Juan Morera and Lladel Vegilla) were around for some time (their debut album, Reyes del Nuevo Milenio, was released in 2000) and gained fans and recognition with records like 2004's De Otra Manera and 2005's Mi Vida: La Pelicula, it wasn't until Pa'l Mundo hit the number one Latin album spot on the Billboard charts that they began to be recognized outside the Spanish-speaking community. That record, which featured guest appearances from reggaeton star Daddy Yankee and Aventura, was released in 2005. Los Vaqueros (2006), a group effort also including affiliates Tony Dize, Gadiel, and Jayko, followed. With their popularity at a fevered pitch in the wake of Pa'l Mundo's long string of high-charting hits, Wisin & Yandel released a variety of material in 2007, including a new studio album (Los Extraterrestres), a remix album (Los Vaqueros: Wild Wild Mixes), a live album (Tomando Control), and a collection of repackaged archival material (2010 Lost Edition).
