Through the ages, the winter solstice has been a time of preparation for the winter months ahead. A mid-winter feast was often held before deep winter set in. Most wine and beer made during the year were fermented and ready to drink at this time. Join us on the meadow deck on Saturday December 18 to observe the winter solstice. We will relax with wine & cheese while Tai Chi instructor Dale Napier tells us about the history of solstice celebrations in cultures around the world. He will give a brief Tai Chi demonstration and offer a group participation "tryout" of some easy Tai Chi movements characteristic of the Chinese celebration of winter.
Note: Must be 21 or over to attend. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Event starts at 7 p.m. and ends at 9; event will move indoors in case of rain.
