Denise Bibro Fine Art is pleased to announce the opening of Winter Salon: 2010-2011, on view December 16, 2010 to January 29, 2011. A reception will be held for the artists Thursday, January 6th from 6 to 8pm. The exhibition features 21 artists working in myriad aesthetic, conceptual, and technical modes. The exhibition encompasses figurative, realist, and abstract work, and includes painting, works on paper, sculpture, and collage, as well as found object assemblage.
Canadian artist Sydney Drum will be featured at the exhibit.
"These works combine alternating panels of representation and abstraction. Some panels are hand-painted (a labor-intensive, low-tech method); others use digital technology to explore how this technology has changed the way we view painting and the world around us (an emphatically high-tech process.) This juxtaposition is intended to engage the viewer in a dialog about these different approaches in contemporary artwork. In my work, these various modalities interact, but without one mode dominating another, and suggest a dialog of constantly shifting visions."
