Winter Photographer's Special February 20, 2011

This is a rare opportunity to see and photograph a Mixed Consist with Pullman Green passenger cars against the winter snow! There are no photos to post since we haven't seen this consist on winter rails since the 1950s. The D&S has committed to keeping these cars painted Pullman Green only until the end of 2011 so there's a good chance we won't see this consist again for a long time. You will have opportunities to get photographs and videos of scenes few people will ever have a chance to get as the train stops in the remote wilderness for you to disembark at specially selected stops. The train will back out of view and once instructed by the conductor, with a long whistle it will proceed toward the photo line with smoke and steam hissing and billowing in the cold mountain air! Once passed out of sight, the train then returns to pick up the passengers to take them to the next photo run-by.
