Ahoy Matey And Welcome Aboard!

Join Meet Market Adventures and other single sailors as we learn how to Sail a Yacht on Lake Winnipeg. Come try out your sea legs, on this! Before we set sail, our captain will provide us with a brief introduction to the basics of sailing and the particulars for this yacht. We’ll work as a team to learn basic crewing skills such readying the vessel and getting under way, sailing both as helmsman and crew, and will include basic terminology, the language of sailing.

This hands-on experience will have you maneuvering around the ship in no time; you will learn the ways of working a sailing yacht like a true captain. Sailing aboard this beautiful luxury sailboat will make this a summer adventure to remember! This program provides the newcomer a taste of cruising under sail. It’s an opportunity to experience first hand what sailing is all about. Your CYA certified instructors are veteran sailors with extensive and varied experience. You will be able to draw on their knowledge and experience to gain insight into cruising, boat selection, boat operation, chartering, provisioning.

We’ll be taking out two Sailboats, and there will be 4 of you in each boat. After sailing, we'll supply a lunch to be enjoyed onboard the boats, as we park close together at the Gimli Yacht Club. We’ll then have rest of the afternoon to either sit on the beach, do some shopping, or visit some of the sites of Gimli.
