Hey all,
We are having a meeting for the upcoming WineCamp (please don't forget to register) at Canvas on Tuesday.
To discuss:
- food
- promotion
- other logistics
The truth is, we have oodles of people watching, signed up and on the wiki, but not very many registered thusfar. So...we need to know why that is.
I know...paying sucks.
The reason we are charging is that we need a show of total commitment, because we have to go shopping for food ahead of time, drag it out to wine country, rent griddles, etc. and have enough volunteers to make it happen. Without solid numbers, it's very difficult to make it happen. We figured a small fee (and remember, it's for the entire weekend, including 5-6 meals + snacks, camping, wine tasting, great interaction, sunday's wifi and a cool experience - and if you totally can't afford it, just drop us an email and you can volunteer your time to pay for it or something).
Oh...and we have quite a few non-profits signed up (who paid). They need our geek community there!
So...anyway...Tuesday is an opportunity to come out and voice your objections or have that discussion and see how we can make this an awesome weekend for everyone. ;)
...p.s. any money left over will go to a (yet to be specified) non-profit. Ideas on that are welcome, too.
