To mark the start of Armed Forces Week in Winchester and the lead up to National Armed Forces Day, Hampshire’s Lord-Lieutenant is joining with Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council to host a Flag Raising Ceremony. The lunch-time celebration begins at 11.45 am with the Band of the Adjutant General’s Corps playing a selection of military music at the Buttercross in the centre of Winchester before leading a column of 80 marching servicemen and women up the High Street from Next ready for the Flag Raising Ceremony outside The Great Hall.
Timings:
11.45 am - The Band of the Adjutant General's Corps will play at the Buttercross in the High Street
12.35 pm - Parade to step off for march to The Great Hall
12:45pm - Parade arrives at The Great Hall (please note: members of the public wishing to attend the Flag Raising Ceremony must be at The Great Hall by 12:40pm)
1:00 pm - Armed Forces Flag Raising Ceremony organised by the Lord-Lieutenant, Hampshire County Council and Winchester City Council.
