William Lamson: Action for the Delaware
On view from January 19, 2013 through March 3, 2013
Action for the Delaware is a video work that features artist William Lamson seemingly standing on the surface of the Delaware River. As the camera cuts to another shot, we see Lamson submerged and struggling to steady himself on a floatation device that provides the illusion. The work alternates between the serene long shots of Lamson seemingly walking on water and noisy close-ups of the artist wrestling with his raft and his balance in the river's current.
Action for the Delaware was organized by Nora Burnett Abrams and will be on view in the Luisa & Chris Law Gallery. William Lamson (b. 1977) is a New York-based artist, and his work has been exhibited at several venues including Storm King Art Center in Mountainville, New York and Pierogi Gallery in Brooklyn, New York.
