The Museum of Contemporary Art Denver presents two new exhibitions by artists William Lamson and Patti Hallock. These exhibitions open to museum members on Saturday, January 19, 2013 from 6 - 8PM.
On Saturday evening, both artists will be in attendance and will give brief gallery talks about their exhibitions. On Sunday, January 20, 2013 from 10AM – 7PM, the museum will be open for a public celebration during which admission will be just 10¢.
Action for the Delaware is a video work that features artist William Lamson seemingly standing on the surface of the Delaware River. As the camera cuts to another shot, we see Lamson submerged and struggling to steady himself on a floatation device that provides the illusion. The work alternates between the serene long shots of Lamson seemingly walking on water and noisy close-ups of the artist wrestling with his raft and his balance in the river's current.
