You'll hear about how this idea took form in Synchronous Objects for One Flat Thing, reproduced by William Forsythe, an ambitious new web project created by Forsythe with Ohio State's Department of Dance and Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD). You'll also find out how these interests invite a wide audience to understand the deep structures of choreographic thinking and how this process can make significant new connections with other fields such as architecture, cognitive science, geography, and philosophy. In addition, the discussion will delve into the ways this extension of Forsythe's choreographic thinking takes form in his installations on view in the exhibition William Forsythe: Transfigurations.

A celebrated roster of special guests will join Forsythe for these talks: Patrick Haggard, professor at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience, University College London; Mark Goulthorpe of MIT's School of Architecture; and Alva Noë, professor of philosophy at the University of California Berkeley, and Scott deLahunta, research fellow at Amsterdam School of the Arts; and Synchronous Objects creative directors Norah Zuniga-Shaw, the Department of Dance's director of dance and technology, and Maria Palazzi, director of ACCAD; and Charles Helm, the Wexner Center's director of performing arts and curator for the Forsythe exhibition.
