Two celebrated creative spirits – one a leading figure in literature, the other a master of art andl illustration as well as a prolific author – come to Lewes for our final event of 2007.
'Psychogeography' brings together fifty of Will Self’s columns for the Independent with Ralph Steadman’s specially commissioned artwork. The book is a quest through space and time for a place in the world, ranging from the Highlands of Scotland to Istanbul and from Morocco to Ohio, although curiously 'Psychogeography #1: A walk through time and space' (October 2003) began with a troubled journey from Lewes to Eastbourne.
At this special winter warmer, the artist and writer will discuss their creative collaboration on the Psychogeography column.
Will Self will be also reading new work and Ralph Steadman will present his illustrated exposition: The Element of Chance – a playful excursion into the surrealist fascination with accident.
