2 Days--April 29-7-9pm, and April 30, 9am-2pm. Join Boulder-based artist Evan Cantor for a detailed look at taking great wildflower photographs with a digital camera. Friday evening's session consists of a slide presentation of Evan's wildflower images with discussion on the images and how to get them. We'll review techniques to get the best results from a point-and-shoot camera. Saturday's "in-the- field" session will consist of an easy hike seeking and shooting those early season flowers (Spring Beauty, Pasqueflower) as well as those that might surprise us. We will identify (as accurately as possible) both the flowers and the environments we encounter. Equipment: Participants should bring a digital camera with a zoom lens (one with scene selections is recommended; cell-phone or bottom-of-the-line cameras not recommended). Single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras welcome as well but not required. Note: none of the images in Evan's slide presentation were produced with an SLR camera, hence the "point-and-shoot" workshop. Workshop plus Friday lodging and meals (dinner Fri, bkfst and sack lunch Sat): $190 single occ. ($210); $145 ($165) double occ. (Rooms available on a first come/first serve basis). Registration required: (719) 485-4444.
