Synopsis:
Chickens originated in the tropical forests of India and Southeast Asia many thousands of years ago. These Jungle Fowl, still thriving, live vigorous lives, raising their families, foraging for food, roosting in trees. "Fate of the Chicken" takes you, via PowerPoint imagery, through the evolution of chickens from their forested beginnings and natural habitat through phases of their domestication including cockfighting, backyard chicken-keeping, Victorian metaphor, and the "Hen Fever" craze in the 19th century that led to modern chicken and egg production.
